The two sticks are held side by side in the same hand. A string with a tassel on the end hangs from the end of one stick. When a tassel at the end of the other stick is pulled downward, the other string and tassel rise. This action is repeated. When one tassel is pulled down, the opposite one rises. Of course, it makes sense that the two sticks are somehow joined together. But, you separate the two sticks, proving that there is no connection between them! Yet, they continue to behave with the same action… even when separated! They will even do the same when you hold one in each hand. Finally, you hold one stick in your hand and the other one under your arm. You pull one tassel down, and the other still rises… continuing to defy any logical explanation!
